There was a mixture of questions of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) & Numerical Question type. The overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate. Again the focus of GATE 2016 Paper was to test you fundamental knowledge & Analytical Skill. Many students reported about the noise of mouse click in the examination hall.
The overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate-high. Some aspirants are saying the the GATE Mechanical Engineering paper was tougher than the last few year.
There were lot of Numerical Answer Type type and thermodynamics questions were on the higher side.
The Expected cutoff for GATE 2016 Mechanical Engineering Set 3 paper is expected to be around 28-29 for General category.
