Eligibility Criteria for Indian Navy SSR & AA (Aug 2022 Batch Recruitment)
Candidates who have passed the class 12th with with the following criteria are eligible to apply for Indian Navy SSR & AA exam. Following table contains detail information of eligibility criteria for Indian Navy AA/ SSR exam.

How to Apply Online for the Indian Navy Sailor Notification 2022?
In order to apply online for the Indian Navy Sailor Recruitment exam 2022, candidates must follow the steps mentioned below:
- First, register online at www.joinindiannavy.gov.in with a valid email ID and contact details.
- Click on "Current Opportunities" after logging in with the registered mail ID.
- Click on "Apply Online"
- Fill in the fields of the application form as instructed, upload the requisite scanned documents and click on submit.
Indian Navy SSR & AA Aug. 2022 Selection Process
The selection process of Indian Navy SSR & AA is divided into three stages. All the details are provided here.
Stage 1: Computer-Based Test (CBT)-
- This is the first stage of the Indian Navy SSR & AA examination, which consists of a written exam that takes place in the online mode.
- A total of 100 objective-type questions are asked and the time duration to finish the exam will be 1 Hour.
- The questions will be in English and Hindi languages, based on the following subjects Science, math, English & General Knowledge.
- For each right answer, 1 mark will be given, there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. There will be no negative marking on the unanswered questions.
Stage 2: Physical Test
The physical test will consist of many physical activities including Running, Squats,etc.

Medical Test:
- Medical examination will be conducted by military doctors as per standards prescribed in current regulations which are also applicable to sailors entry.
- Minimum height 157 cms.
- Weight & Chest should be in proportion.
- There is a minimum chest expansion of 5 cms.
- The candidate must be in good physical and mental health, free from any defect which will be likely to interfere with the performance of duties both ashore and afloat under peace as well as war conditions as instructed in Navy Order (Special) 01/2008.
- Candidates who qualify for Preliminary Medical Examination will be considered only “Provisionally fit" which is subject to fitness test in the final medical exam”.
- Final Enrolment after the Medical Examination of all selected candidates will be held at INS Chilka, Odisha. Candidates who clear the Final Enrolment Medical Test will be enrolled.
- Candidates who are found medically unfit can appeal against its findings at INHS Kalyani, Visakhapatnam within a maximum period of 21 days from the date of the test.
Note:- All Candidates are advised to get their ears cleaned for wax, & tartar removed from their teeth prior to medical examinations
Visual Standards
- Without Glasses: Better Eye 6/6; Worse Eye 6/9
- With Glasses: Better Eye 6/6; Worse Eye 6/6
Regarding Tattoos:
- Permanent body tattoos are allowed only on the inner face of forearms (Note: from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reversed side of palm/ back (dorsal) side of the hand.)
- Permanent tattoos on any other part of the body are not permissible & candidates will be declared unfit for the recruitment.
Merit List of Indian Navy SSR & AA Sailors
Indian Navy SSR & AA sailors exam 2022 merit list will be prepared on the basis of candidates performance in written examination subject to qualifying physical fitness test (PFT).
- Indian Navy AA Sailors- Approximately 600 candidates will be issued call letter for enrolment medical examination at INS Chilka.
- Indian Navy SSR Sailors- Approximately 2500 candidates will be issued call letter for enrolment medical examination at INS Chilka.
Note- The cut off marks for issue of call letter for enrolment medical examination may vary from state to state for Indian Navy SSR entry.
