Latest DBT JRF BET Exam Pattern 2023

Candidates preparing for the exam can check the DBT JRF exam pattern below. The exam paper of DBT JRF has two sections, one for general subjects and another for specific Biotechnology. Check the essential details of the exam pattern below.

  • The DBT JRF BET exam will have 200 questions, but the candidate only needs to answer 100 questions.
  • Each question carries three marks, meaning the total number of marks for the exam is 300.
  • The duration of the DBT JRF exam is 180 minutes (3 hours).
  • There will be a negative marking also for each incorrect answer.

DBT JRF Exam Exam Pattern FAQs

  • The DBT JRF 2023 exam pattern is one of the simplest to remember and understand. The exam has 200 questions in two sections. The first section has 50 questions which are compulsory for all the candidates. The second section has 150 questions, of which only 50 have to be attempted. Candidates must try 100 out of 200 questions in the DBT JRF Exam.

  • The Department of Biotechnology has kept marking schemes simple, like the exam pattern. Each question is three marks. For each correct answer, the aspirant will get +3 marks, and for each wrong answer, there is a -ve marking of 1/3 mark of that question, i.e., -1 mark.

  • The selection process of DBT JRF involves a single-stage exam. The exam is conducted on a single day all over the country. Candidates who clear the exam will be awarded a DBT JRF BET fellowship.

  • Yes, the exam pattern for category 1 and category 2 is similar to the DBT JRF exam. Category-I candidates are eligible to avail of fellowship under the program meet any University/Institute in India, where the selected candidate registers for Ph.D. Program while the Category-II candidates are eligible to be appointed in any DBT-sponsored project and avail fellowship from the project equivalent to NET/GATE.
