Who Coined the Term Cell?

In 1660 the term cell was coined by Robert Hooke. According to him cells looks like cellula or tiny rooms in which monks colonized. Robert didn’t realize that the cells which he is discover were dead because of the limited magnification power of the microscope. A Dutch textile merchant Anton van forwarded the discovery of a cell that has 300 times more magnification power than the microscope.


Who Coined the Term Cell?

A European scientist Robert Hooke discovered cells in 1660. The Latin word for the cell is cellula which means a small room that resembled a honeycomb. Around 3.72 trillion are present in the human body.
