Upper Age Limit for BPSC

The Bihar State Commission has set the upper BPSC age limit as 37 for male candidates and 40 years for female candidates. The physical standards for both categories are also mentioned separately in the BPSC eligibility criteria.

BPSC Age Limit: Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen

The Bihar Public Service Commission provides for a provision of relaxation to the candidates who belong to the Ex-Servicemen category. The Ex-servicemen under the age of 53 to 55 can avail of a BPSC age limit relaxation of three years plus the number of years in service.

  • There is a 3 Years of Age relaxation for the Ex-Serviceman (Permanent Commission).
  • A 5 Years of Age relaxation for the Ex-Serviceman (Short Service Commission, etc.) is available.
  • There is a relaxation of 5 Years of Age for govt employees.
  • Also, a relaxation of 10 Years of Age for Divyang People is also permitted.

The Bihar Commission has not restricted the number of attempts to appear for the BPSC exam. A candidate can appear as long as he/she falls within the upper BPSC age limit.
