BPSC Cut off: Types and Stages

BPSC releases the cutoff in various categories and types. The BPSC Official notification also states the following cutoff types. 

  1. Qualifying Cut-off
  2. Category-wise Cut-off
  3. Overall Cut-off

BPSC Qualifying Cut-off

The BPSC cut off for the Preliminary exam is decided on the basis of the number of candidates to be selected for the BPSC Mains Examination. It is usually 13 times the released vacancies. For the Mains examination, a number of candidates, not more than 3 times the vacancies will be selected for the Interview.

BPSC Cut off Stages 

The Bihar Public Service Commission announces the BPSC cut off separately for Prelims, Mains and then the Final cutoff which includes the interview marks as well.

BPSC Pre Cut Off: Candidates who clear the BPSC Prelims cutoff will be eligible to write the Mains Exam. The BPSC Prelims result contains the list of candidates who clear the BPSC cutoff for the Prelims exam. The BPSC preliminary exam cut off will be calculated based on the marks scored by the applicants out of a total of 150 Marks.

BPSC Mains Cut Off: The cut off marks for Mains are also announced soon after the exam is over. These marks decide the fate of the candidates. Candidates who clear the Mains cutoff will be called for the next and final round of Personal Interview. 

BPSC Final Cut Off: A list of selected candidates is published who clear the final cutoff which is calculated as per Mains & Interview Marks. The Interview is allotted 120 Marks in BPSC and the final cut-off is calculated out of 1020 marks.
