Use of Normalisation for UPPCL JE Cut Off 

If the UPPCL JE exam is held in multiple shifts, then the authorities will use the normalization method. The normalisation process is used to enable transparency in the difficulty level of the exam. 

The formula used for the UPPCL JE exam normalisation is given below.

  • S2: Standard Deviation of the shift with the highest average score taken as the base for normalisation.
  • S1: Standard Deviation of the corresponding shift (To be scaled to S2)
  • X: Raw score of the candidate
  • Xav: Simple average of the candidate shift
  • Yav: Average corresponding to shift with the highest average taken as the base for normalisation.
