UKPSC JE Exam Pattern

UKPSC JE Exam Pattern is released in accordance with the guidelines issues by UKPSC. All the candidates who apply for the UKPSC JE recruitment must know the detailed UKPSC JE question paper pattern to qualify for the exam. UKPSC JE Exam 2022 will be concluded in two phases, a written exam followed by a personal interview. The written exam will further have 2 parts, part 1 and part 2. UKPSC JE Exam Pattern: Paper 1 & 2

The UKPSC JE exam pattern includes two papers, Paper 1 & Paper 2. All the questions for the UKPSC JE exam will be objective in nature. Candidates should prepare keeping in mind the weightage for each section to score maximum marks.

  • Paper 1 of the UKPSC JE exam will be common to all the candidates. 
  • However, Paper 2 will be based on the educational qualification of the candidates. 
  • Further, the last stage is the interview

UKPSC JE Exam Pattern for Part 1: General Subject Pattern

We have explained the UKPSC JE exam pattern for Paper 1 in the table below. 

  • The UKPSC JE exam for part 1 will have 2 subjects, General Hindi and General English each of 100 marks with 100 questions. 
  • The duration for each paper of the UKPSC JE part 1 will be of 2 hours each. 
  • All the questions will be objective multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

UKPSC JE Exam Pattern for Part 2: Engineering Subject

The UKPSC Junior Engineer exam Paper 2 will be engineering subject-based. The candidates will be required to answer all the questions as per the educational qualification chosen by them in the application form. 

  • The UKPSC JE part 2 will have civil, electrical, mechanical, and agricultural engineering subjects. 
  • The UKPSC JE part 2 will have 2 papers each, paper 1 and paper 2. 
  • Each paper of the UKPSC JE part 2 will have 180 questions. 
  • The marks for each paper of the UKPSC JE exam will be 360 marks, i.e. 720 marks in total. 
  • The total duration of the UKPSC JE exam will be 3 Hours.

UKPSC JE Interview

The UKPSC JE interview will be for 100 marks. Candidates who will qualify the UKPSC JE written exam will be called for the interview. The UKPSC JE interview/personality test will aim to test whether the candidate is able to perform the tasks diligently or not. Further, the confidence and personality of the candidates will also be tested. 

Thus, the final list of selected aspirants will be declared by adding the marks scored by the aspirant in the UKPSC JE Written Exam and Interview.

UKPSC JE Exam Exam Pattern FAQs

  • The UKPSC JE exam pattern states that the exam will have two parts. This is divided into Paper 1 and Paper 2, which will be written exams. Both exams will be objective type MCQs in nature. The final stage of selection is the interview, candidates for which will be selected based on their performance in the written exam.

  • According to the UKPSC JE exam pattern, the total marks for the Paper 1 are 200. This includes 100 marks for General Hindi and 100 marks for General English.

  • Yes, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks. This means that for every wrong answer 1/4th of the total marks for it will be deducted. Hence, candidates are strongly advised to ensure that they are mindful while answering questions and do not make too many guesses as it might end up with them losing marks.

  • Yes, the UKPSC JE recruitment will have an interview for 100 marks. This is an important part of the UKPSC JE exam pattern as qualifying their interview is paramount for your final selection.

  • According to the UKPSC JE exam pattern, the written exam will be for 920 marks. The UKPSC JE subject-wise weightage is as follows:

    • Paper 1 - 200 marks (two sections of 100 marks each)
    • Paper 2 - 720 marks (two section of 360 marks each)
  • The UKPSC JE Paper 1 will be for 2 hours as per the UKPSC JE exam pattern. Candidates will have to complete their exam within the stipulated time duration as once the time will be over their exam will automatically be submitted, even if incomplete.
