Who is the Guardian of the Constitution of India?

The Guardian of the Constitution of India is Supreme Court formulated by Dr. B. R Ambedkar. The Indian Constitution is guarded by the Supreme Court, which also serves as the country’s highest court and the final court of appeal. Judicial review refers to the ability of the Supreme Court to take the necessary action against any wrongdoing or violation by the Government or others.

Guardian of the Constitution of India
Supreme Court of India has existed since 26th January 1950. Indian constitution acts as the supreme law of the land, and the Supreme Court is the highest in order. It has been handed over the responsibility of acting as the protector, interpreter, and guardian of the constitution. As per Part V (The Union) and Chapter 6 (The Union Judiciary), there is a special provision for the Supreme Court in the Indian Constitution.
The Supreme Court has a responsibility to stop Parliament and the Executive from violating any constitutional provisions. Any law interfering with citizens’ fundamental rights may be rejected or declared invalid.
A supreme court sits at the top of the court system. These courts can also be referred to as apex courts, high courts of appeal, and courts of last resort. In general, no other court has the authority to review a supreme court’s rulings any further.

The Supreme Court of India came into existence on 26 January 1950 and is located at Tilak Marg in New Delhi. The Supreme Court of India functioned until it was moved from the Parliament House to the present building. It holds the responsibility to uphold the supremacy of the Constitution and guarantee citizens’ rights according to the rule of law.
