According to Article 371B, the President can set up a committee of the Assam Legislative Assembly comprised of individuals elected from the state’s tribal regions and any other individuals he chooses. The State of Assam is given special consideration under Article 371B.

Article 371B in the Constitution of India
Amit Shah, the home minister of India, told the Lok Sabha that the government has no intention of removing 11 states, including six in the Northeast, that are covered by special provisions in Article 371 of the Constitution.
- Following concerns from Congress leaders that 11 states, including six in the Northeast, were subject to special provisions in Article 371 of the Constitution, he provided reassurance.
- Notwithstanding any other provision of this Constitution, the President may, by the order issued with respect to the State of Assam, provide for the establishment, makeup, and responsibilities of a committee of the Legislative Assembly.
- The formation and efficient operation of the committee are guaranteed by the number of additional Assembly members that the order may call for and the changes made to this Assembly’s rules of procedure.
Article 370
Article 370 deals with Temporary Provisions relating to the State of Jammu and Kashmir, From Articles 371 to 371J define special provisions relating to another State (or States). This article was added by the 22nd Constitutional Amendment Act of 1969.

- Area of Bodoland Territorial Areas
