BLAT Exam Pattern 2021

  • The Question will be Objective Multiple Choice Questions with Four Options.
  • There is a 1/3rd Negative Marking.
  • The time allotted is 2 hrs. i.e. One Hundred Twenty Minutes.
  • The Question will be in two languages English and Hindi.

BLAT Syllabus 2021: General knowledge and Current Affairs

General knowledge and Current Affairs include topics such as History (Ancient, Medieval, and Modern), Geography, General Science, Economics, Civics and the Current Affairs of the past one year. The subject is to assess the knowledge of the recent happenings and awareness of the world.

Preparation tips to prepare General knowledge and Current Affairs

  • Make a daily habit to read the newspaper.
  • Keep yourself aware of news and important happenings around the world by way of New Channels and other social media platforms.
  • In the examination attempt this section either in the beginning or at the end. Not more than 15 minutes should be devoted to this section.
  • Refer to quality books and magazines, including the NCERT social sciences books you read during school.
  • Be aware of the important appointments and personalities in the news.

BLAT Syllabus 2021: Logical and Analytical Reasoning

Logical and Analytical Reasoning section of the BLAT Exam is to set the candidate’s ability to identify patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments. It will include wide analogies, completing arguments, drawing well-supported conclusions, reasoning by analogy, applying principles or rules. Further, the subject is to measure the ability to understand the structure, relationship and to draw logical conclusions about the structures. It includes reasoning deductively from the set of the statement and rules or principles that describe the relationship among persons, things, or events.

Preparation tips to prepare Logical and Analytical Reasoning

  • The difficulty level of this section is mediocre but solving these questions consumes a lot of time, so practice as much as possible in order to enhance your efficiency.
  • The series of topics given above is not exhaustive and some other topics related to testing your Reasoning ability might also be included in this section, so prepare your mind for the same.

BLAT Syllabus 2021: English

English section will consist of the question on the areas like vocabulary (Synonyms, Antonyms, analogies etc.) Proficiency (Idioms and Phrases, one-word substitution, Sentence Improvement and rearrangement, fill in the blanks etc.) English comprehension with a minimum of two passages followed by five to ten questions that test reading and reasoning abilities.

Preparation tips to prepare English

  • Read Novels and quality literature.
  • Make a habit to Watch English movies and shows.
  • Keep a pocket dictionary always with you and memorize 10 words a day in a free time (like traveling in the metro etc.)
  • Concepts of Grammar should not only be memorized but clarified too.

BLAT Syllabus 2021: Basic Mathematics

This is to test the numerical ability of candidates. The Mathematics questions will be set from std 10th level of various topics including Profit and Loss, Speed and Distance, Time and Work, Algebra, Venn Diagram.

Preparation tips to prepare English

  • All the formulas and concepts of Mathematics that have been taught till high school should be brushed up.
  • Since the questions in this section are easy but time-consuming so practice as much as possible so the time taken per minute could be reduced.
