Indian Navy MR Eligibility Criteria 2021
The candidate first needs to check their eligibility criteria for the Indian Navy MR recruitment. We are discussing the eligibility criteria of the MR posts:
1. Matric Recruit (MR)
- The candidates must have passed the 10th/Matriculation examination from schools, and boards that are recognized by MHRD, Govt of India.
Age Limit
- For MR Entry: Candidates should be born between 01 Apr 2001 to 30 Sep 2004.

Note: For every correct answer, there will be 01 marks while there will be a negative marking of one-fourth marks (0.25 marks) for every incorrect answer.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
One needs to qualify for the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) in order to get selected.
PFT will consist of the following:
10 Push-ups
1.6 Km run within 7 minutes
20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak)
Medical Test
- Military physicians will carry out medical examinations in accordance with the norms specified in the present regulations.
- The Minimum permissible height is 157 cms.
- There is a minimum chest expansion should be of 5 cms.
- Weight & Chest should be proportionate.
- As per Navy Order (Special) 01/2008, the applicant should be in excellent physical and mental health, free from any deficiency that may interfere with the performance of responsibilities both ashore and afloat under peace and war circumstances.
- Candidates qualifying for Preliminary Medical Examination will only be regarded as "provisionally fit" and will be subject to fitness tests in the final medical examination.
- Final selection will take place at INS Chilka, Odisha, after the medical examination of all chosen applicants. Applicants who are medically fit in the medical final registration test will be registered.
- Candidates declared medically unsuitable may appeal against their results at INHS Kalyani, Visakhapatnam within 21 days of the date of the exam.
Note:- All Candidates are recommended to remove their ears before medical examinations for wax and tartar from their teeth
Regarding Tattoos
- The body tattoos are only permitted on the internal face of forearms, i.e. from the inside of the elbow to the wrist and on the inverted side of the hand's (dorsal) palm/backside.
- Permanent tattoos are not acceptable on any other portion of the body and applicants are prevented from recruiting.
Pay and Allowances
- There will be a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month during the original training period. They will be placed in the Defence Pay Matrix Level 3 (Rs 21,700-Rs 69,100) upon successful completion of the training.
- Besides this, MSP @ Rs 5200/- will be paid per month plus DA (as applicable).
- Promotion prospects are up to Master Chief Petty Officer-I, i.e. Defence Pay Matrix Level 8 (Rs 47,600-Rs 1,51,100) plus MSP @ Rs 5200/-per month plus DA.
- There are also opportunities for promotion to the rank of commissioned officer for those who qualify for prescribed exams.
Examination Fee
- Candidates (with the exception of SC /ST applicants who are exempt from paying the fee) are needed to pay a sum of Rs.205/-which can be paid via internet banking or using Visa / Master / RuPay Credit / Debit Card / UPI.
