History of HPCL

Between 1974 to 1978, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited(HPCL full form) was formed after the merger and nationalisation of ESSO, Lube India, and Caltex. HPCL was conferred with Maharatna status on 24 October 2019. ONGC owns major stakes in the HPCL. They became Maharatna in 2019. Mr Pushp Kumar Josh is the current Chairman & Managing Director of HPCL.
