What is the Fees for GATE Exam?

GATE exam fees submission process has ended now. IIT Kanpur released the GATE application form 2023 on 30 August 2022. Interested candidates applied for the upcoming exam by submitting their forms and the adequate exam fee per their categorical division. The last date to submit the application form was 30 September 2022. However, candidates submitted the application form by submitting the late fee by 7 October 2022.

GATE Exam Fees Overview
GATE exam fees is the fixed amount which candidates have to pay in order to successfully submit their application form. Depending upon the category of the candidate, they have to pay the exam fee accordingly. It is essential for the candidates belonging to the countries other than India that their application fee is different than the Indian nationals and they have to submit it before the closing date of the registration.
The GATE 2023 exam fees is also called as the GATE registration fees and are neither transferable nor refundable. Online payments must be made through net banking, a debit card, a credit card, a wallet, UPI, or another method. Additional online transaction fees or bank fees may be charged depending on the current norms. The fees for the GATE exam for various candidates are given below.

GATE 2023 Fees For Indian Candidates

GATE 2023 Fees for Foreign National Candidates
Candidattes who wanted to register for the GATE exam but do not belong to India shall pay GATE fee higher than the Indian Nationals. The candidates have to pay variable fee as per the choice of exam centers by the candidates.

GATE Fees For Indian Nationals Appearing at International Centres
It is decided by the officials that candidates belonging to India can also appear in the exam centers outside India. Candidates can select between Dhaka, Kathmandu, Dubai, and Singapore to sit for the GATE exam and have to pay the exam registration fee accordingly as mentioned in the table shown below:

The Female candidates have to pay the GATE fee varied than the male candidates belonging to the general category. The complete breakup of the various fee female candidates have to pay as per the requirement is shown below:

- For changing category from any gender to Female: ₹ 500

GATE Exam Fees Important Points
Various essential points candidate have to know before submitting the GATE application fee and other fee as per the demand of the candidate. Check out the important points mentioned below:
- Candidates under the Person with Disability (PwD) category must attach a valid, recently obtained PwD certificate issued by the appropriate authority to qualify for the GATE exam fee reduction.
- GATE qualified applicants who need a soft copy of their GATE Scorecard must pay an amount of ₹500 per paper to acquire it from 31 May 2023 till 31 December 2023.
- When the payment is completed, the user will be sent back to the GATE 2023 application page, where they can click and download the GATE application form in pdf format.
- The candidate should check the GATE exam fee transaction status from their bank account and log back into the application portal after some time to confirm that the payment has been processed if they experience any difficulties.
