How many attempts for GATE | GATE Eligibility

According to the GATE eligibility criteria, there is no age limit and no limit for the number of attempts. Hence any number can be taken by students/ candidates for the GATE exam at any age.

Students who are eligible to sit in the GATE exam can give any number of attempts for the exam. There are no restrictions based on the number of attempts. 

Number of attempts for GATE exam

According to the official notification from the GATE organizing committee, there is no restriction on the number of attempts. As per the GATE officials, age is also not a barrier to eligibility for the exam.

According to the latest notification from the GATE officials, students can even attempt and sit for two subjects in the GATE exam

  • There is no age limit for the GATE exam. Age is not a criterion for eligibility for the GATE exam.

  • Yes, students in the final year of minimum 10+2+4 (ongoing) to minimum 10+2+3 (ongoing) are eligible for the GATE 2022 exam.

  • Good rank for the GATE exam is below 200. This rank will be good enough for students to get admission in the Master's program in various institutions.

  • In the GATE exam, there are three different types of questions MCQs, MSQs, and NATS. MCQs are not the only type of question that is asked in the GATE exam.
