Abhay Kumar is the Youngest Indian Foreign Service Officer. He belongs to the 2003 IFS batch. Abhay Kumar was appointed as the Ambassador of India to Madagascar in 2018 when he was only 38. Presently, he works as the Deputy Chief of Mission for India at the Indian Embassy in Brazil. Abhay penned his first documentary in Moscow, describing the story of his journey from a humble town in Bihar. The Youngest Indian Foreign Service Officer, Abhay Kumar was born and brought up in Rajgir, Nalanda district of Bihar. He completed his studies at Nehru Jawaharlal University.
Being an IFS Officer, Kumar performed his duties in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Indian Government, and correspondingly in the missions of India and overseas positions in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Kathmandu. The important years of his career are as follows:
- 2010: Employed as Under Secretary of Digital Diplomacy at the Ministry of External Affairs office (New Delhi)
- 2012 to 2015: Worked as the spokesperson for the Embassy of India (Kathmandu)
- 2015: Designated as Director of the Nehru Centre, in London.
