Who is the Present Advocate General of Andhra Pradesh?

Subrahmanyam Sriram is the present Advocate General of Andhra Pradesh appointed in 2019. In India, the Advocate General is the legal advisor to the state government. The post is created by the Constitution of India (see Article 165) and is equivalent to the Attorney General for India at the level of the central government.

  • Sriram succeeds departing Advocate General Dammalapati Srinivas, who was chosen in 2016 by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) administration headed by Chandra Babu.
  • Koti Reddy appeared to be one of several names being considered for the positions of Public Prosecutor and Government Advocate.
  • On the recommendation of the State Government, the Governor appoints the Solicitor General.
