Eligibility for Advocate General
The following requirements must be satisfied for someone to be eligible to hold the position of advocate general in India:
- He must be a citizen of India.
- He must be qualified to serve as a judge of the High Court, which means he must satisfy one of the following requirements:
- A barrister with more than five years’ worth of experience.
- A public employee with more than ten years of experience has worked for at least three years as a servant in the Zila Court.
- A pleader over 10 years in any high court
- He shouldn’t be older than 62, as that is the maximum allowed.
