Which States are the Northern Plains in India?

The states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal are called the Northern Plains in India. These states are the most populous having the highest population density. Among the states, to its east, West Bengal shares a border with Bangladesh. The northern plains are located toward the north direction of the Tropic of Cancer.

Being heavily drained by Ganga and Yamuna, these northern plains are excellent for farming, crop production, and other agricultural activities.
