Difference Between NREGA And MGNREGA
The difference between NREGA and MGNREGA arises due to the modification in the nomenclature of the Act from NREGA to MGNREGA. The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act revised the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act by renaming it Section 1(1).
The mandate of MGNREGA is to provide at least 100 days of guaranteed wage employment in a financial year to every rural household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work.
