The Peasants of Kheda Demanded a reduction of the revenue payment requirements. Due to high taxes and physical limitations brought on by a plague outbreak, they were unable to work during the harvest season and thus missed the window of opportunity to pay the revenue. To meet this need, the Kheda Satyagraha was started.

Demands of Kheda Peasants
To meet the needs of the peasants, the Kheda Satyagraha was started. Following the Champaran Satyagraha led by Mahatma Gandhi in 1918, the Kheda Satyagraha was the next significant satyagraha movement.

- Gujaratis who supported the uprising in other regions opposed the government apparatus and helped hide the loved ones and possessions of the protesting peasants.
