The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing in Pune, India, created and put together a line of supercomputers known as PARAM. The Sanskrit word PARAM stands for “supreme” and also stands for “Parallel Machine.”
The chief software developer behind Param was Vijay Pandurang Bhatkar, who developed the first Indian supercomputer, the PARAM 8000, back in 1998. He even built the NPSF or National Param Supercomputing Facility after the PARAM series.
