KSET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities/Colleges/Institutions of Higher education (Government/Aided/Private) in Karnataka State. Some KSET Exemption Criteria 2023 are listed below:

  • The minimum eligibility requirement for hiring and appointing assistant professors in universities, colleges, and institutions will continue to be NET/SET/SLET. In this context, UGC regulations and changes periodically published in the Indian Gazette will govern exemption from NET/SET/SLET.
  • Additionally exempt from the KSET exam are applicants who passed the UGC-NET/CSIR JRF exam before 1989.
  • Candidates who passed the SET, which was held prior to the first of June 2002 and was recognized by the UGC as a requirement for assistant professor eligibility, are excused from taking the KSET and are qualified to apply for assistant professor positions throughout India.
  • Only universities and colleges in the state where they passed their State Eligibility Test are eligible to accept qualifying applicants for the position of assistant professor for SET exams administered starting on June 1, 2002.
