KSET Eligibility Criteria 2021

It is crucial to know the KSET Eligibility Criteria 2021 for participating in the selection process. The KSET eligibility conditions are quite similar to the National eligibility exam conducted by UGC. KSET center, University of Mysore, adheres strictly to the guidelines specified by the UGC-NET Bureau. This State Eligibility Test is conducted once a year and ensures rigorous merit-based selection for the entry-level teaching professionals. The KSET exam is open for candidates who are at the Master’s level or have completed their Ph.D.

The person appearing for the exam should be a resident of Karnataka state and must have studied up to Masters's level. The candidates belonging to other states are also eligible, however, they will be considered under General Category. KSET Age Limit 2021

There is not any maximum KSET age limit for this entrance exam. The appearing candidates have to fulfil other required parameters as discussed below.

KSET Educational Qualification 2021

The required KSET Educational Qualifications for candidates appearing for KSET Exams 2021 are as follows -

  1. All aspirants should have passed Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% of marks (50% in case of OBCs/ PWD/SC/ ST). All aspirants must qualify the Master’s degree from a university, college or institute recognized by the UGC.
  2. If a candidate is in the final year of his/her Master’s degree, then he/she can sir for KSET exam 2021. However, a KSET eligibility certificate will only be awarded when you submit proof of the qualifying examinations.
  3. The candidate has to choose only the subject relevant to the candidate’s qualification.
  4. In case a candidate is unable to locate his/her Master’s degree subject in the KSET subject list, the candidate is allowed to sit for a related subject. So, you can choose Life Sciences in KSET in case you have passed M. Sc. in Biology.
  5. In case you have already cleared KSET previously, you are not eligible to appear for the KSET exams 2021.

KSET Exemption Criteria 2021

Some KSET Exemption Criteria 2021 are listed below -

  1. In case a candidate has already cleared UGC-NET or CSIR-NET you are exempted from KSET exam.
  2. If the candidate has qualified the State Eligibility Test (SET) held prior to June 1, 2002, he/she is exempted from KSET.

The exemption from NET/SET/SLET will be governed by UGC regulations and amendments notified in the Gazette of India for time to time.

  • Yes. Residents from other states can also take the KSET exam, just that OBC/ ST/ SC candidates from other states will be considered under General Category.
