KSET Educational Qualification 2022

The required KSET Educational Qualifications for candidates appearing for KSET Exams 2022 are as follows -

  1. All aspirants should have passed Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% of marks (50% in case of OBCs/ PWD/SC/ ST). All aspirants must qualify the Master’s degree from a university, college or institute recognized by the UGC.
  2. If a candidate is in the final year of his/her Master’s degree, then he/she can sir for KSET exam 2022. However, the eligibility criteria for Karnataka SET will only be awarded when you submit proof of the qualifying examinations.
  3. The candidate has to choose only the subject relevant to the candidate’s qualification.
  4. In case a candidate is unable to locate his/her Master’s degree subject in the KSET subject list, the candidate is allowed to sit for a related subject. So, you can choose Life Sciences in KSET in case you have passed M. Sc. in Biology.
  5. In case you have already cleared Karnataka SET previously, you are not eligible to appear for the KSET exams 2022.

KSET Exemption Criteria 2022

Some KSET Exemption Criteria 2022 are listed below -

  1. In case a candidate has already cleared UGC-NET or CSIR-NET you are exempted from KSET exam.
  2. If the candidate has qualified for the State Eligibility Test (SET) held prior to June 1, 2002, he/she is exempted from KSET.

The exemption from NET/SET/SLET will be governed by UGC regulations and amendments notified in the Gazette of India from time to time.

  • Yes. A PhD degree holder whose Master’s level examination had been completed by September 19, 1991, is eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (only 50% would be required) for appearing in KSET.

  • Yes. Residents from other states can also take the KSET exam, just that OBC/ ST/ SC candidates from other states will be considered under General Category.
