Indian Army GD Educational Qualification
To qualify for the position of General Duty, candidates must have a thorough awareness of the educational qualifications established by the Indian Army GD recruitment. The following academic credentials are required of applicants to the Indian Army GD recruitment exam:
- Candidates must have completed at least their matriculation or 10th grade with an overall grade point average of 45% and 33% in all required subjects from an accredited board.
- Candidates must receive at least a minimum score of 33 marks out of 100 marks in each topic and a combined total of 45% to be considered for the best of the five subjects.
Indian Army GD Age Limit
Candidates must ensure that their date of birth falls between the specified dates published by the Indian Army GD in the official notification regarding the date of birth provided by the recruitment authority.
Applicants must meet the age requirements for the Indian Army GD positions, and as of 2022, the exam’s designated age range is 17.5 to 23 years. It indicates that a person must be 17.5 years old to apply for general service and cannot be older than 23.
Indian Army GD Nationality
To encourage unification, the Indian Army GD has established the following eligibility requirements for nationality:
- Individuals from India are qualified for Indian Army GD positions.
- All applicants from Bhutan and Nepal nationalities are eligible to apply for the GD position in the Indian Army.
- Also eligible to apply are Tibetan refugees who establish permanent residence in India before January 1, 2022.
- Candidates for the Indian Army GD may also apply if they have moved permanently to India from Sri Lanka, the East African nations of Uganda, Pakistan, Kenya, Burma, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire, and Ethiopia, as well as Vietnam.
Note: Candidates not born in India initially must possess a government of India-issued nationality certificate. Aspirants from Nepal or Gorkha are exempt from this requirement, and a nationality document is not always necessary.
Indian Army GD Marital Status
To be eligible to join the Indian Army GD, an applicant must be unmarried or single and complete all other qualifying requirements.
Indian Army GD Physical Standards

Indian Army GD Selection Process
To be shortlisted for the Indian Army GD, candidates must pass four stages: the physical fitness test, the physical measurement test, the medical test, and the written test. General Knowledge, General Science, Logical Reasoning, and Math are the topics included in the Indian Army GD Recruitment written exam.
