FAQs

  • Every year, the IITs' GATE score cutoff fluctuates depending on the desired specialization. A GATE score of 700 or higher may qualify you for admission among the list of colleges according to GATE score.

  • GATE scores are required for M Tech admission to the list of college according to GATE score, which are participating institutes in the COAP and CCMT admission portals. However, many government and private universities conduct their own admissions tests.

  • You are eligible for admission to the PG program but to confirm a seat in prestigious institutes, you need a good GATE score.

  • Students who have graduated in Engineering with an IIT degree are exempted from taking the GATE examinations and can instead apply for and take a written test.

Students who have completed their BTech degree from another university but have a CGPA of 8.0 or higher in the past two years are exempt from taking the GATE. These students can directly appear for the written test and personal interview round.

  • Candidates with GATE 2022 scores in the 700s have a decent chance of getting into popular IITs and NITs courses.

  • GATE scores should be kept as they are valid for three years. It may be necessary during counseling or PSU recruitments in the upcoming year.
