Uttar Pradesh has a well-developed agro-based industry in the country. The state is known as the ‘sugar bowl of India’ as it is the largest producer of sugarcane. The growth in the agricultural sector also promoted the growth of allied industries like cold storage and warehousing. Apart from this, the textile industry is the other growing sector in the state. In India, Uttar Pradesh is the largest producer of electronic goods and the fourth-largest exporter of software products.

The state has a major contribution to food grain stock like wheat, rice, sugarcane, maize, vegetable, Oilseeds, Pulses, and Potatoes, Mangoes, etc. The state comprises fertile regions of Indo- Gangetic Plain which is the reason for agriculture growth. It also has irrigation facilities of canals and tube-wells. The western part is developed in terms of irrigation. Uttar Pradesh has also a major fishing area which comprises more than 170 types of fishes.
