What is UPPSC J Exam?

UP Judiciary exam also known as the U.P. Judicial Service Civil Judge exam or UPPSC civil judge exam is a government recruitment exam administered by UPPSC to recruit eligible candidates for the post of civil judge. The exam is conducted in a three-stage manner starting from the Prelims exam, followed by Mains and Interview. The selection will be made on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in the Main (written) examination and Interview.

What is the salary of UPPCS J?

As per the official website, the UP Civil Judge salary is as per scale pay: 7700-770-35090-920-40450-1080-44770.

UPPSC Judiciary Eligibility: Educational Qualification

As per the eligibility for the UPPSC J exam, 

  • The candidate must hold a Bachelor of Laws degree from a university established by law in Uttar Pradesh or from any other Indian university recognised by the Governor for this purpose. OR
  • Must be an Advocate enrolled under the Advocate Act 1961, a Barrister of England or Northern Ireland, or a Member Faculty of Advocates in Scotland, with the right to practise in the Court or Courts subordinate to it. 

It is also required that the applicant has a solid understanding of Hindi in Devnagri Script.

How to fill in the UP Judiciary form

Visit the official website- uppsc.up.nic.in or use the direct link mentioned here. Click on “ALL NOTIFICATIONS/ADVERTISEMENTS”, 3 options will be displayed.

Registration

  • Click on Apply to begin the UPPSC J Registration form
  • Fill in all the basic information and cross-check. 
  • Use the Edit option in case you need to make corrections. 
  • Click on Submit and Print Registration Slip will be displayed. 
  • Keep the registration slip for future use. 

Submit the application fee

  • Click on "proceed to payment"
  • You can submit the application fee via 3 modes, net banking, card payments and other payment modes.

After paying the appropriate fee by one of the modes,

“Payment Acknowledgement Receipt (PAR)” shall be displayed with fee deposition detail. Click on "Print Payment Receipt" to save your copy

UPPSC Civil Judge Selection Process

The UPPSC J selection process is similar to the UPPSC PCS exam. It is a three-step process. The first stage is the UP Civil judge prelims exam. Candidates who qualify the UPPSC J prelims exam are called for the mains examination. Applicants who clear the UP J Mains exam are then called for the interview. 

According to the official notification, candidates for the main examination will be deemed successful in a ratio of 1:10, and candidates for the interview will be declared successful in a ratio of 1:3. For the final merit list, marks of the mains and interview rounds are considered.

UPPSC J Exam Pattern

UP Judiciary Exam Pattern is clearly explained below for all the stages. It is important that the applicants understand the paper pattern for both Prelims and Mains exam along with the scoring pattern.

The UP Judiciary Prelims exam will be an offline exam. There will be two papers of objective type questions. There will be a negative marking of 1/3rd marks for every wrong answer.

UP PCS J 2021 Cutoff

The commission sets a minimum efficiency standard along with the cutoff marks. The applicants shall not be placed in the merit/select list if they have secured less than the minimum efficiency standards in prelims and mains.

UPPSC Judiciary Admit Card 2021

UPPSC J admit card is released on the official website for all the stages. The UPPSC Judiciary admit card 2021 release date is usually 10-15 days prior to the exam date. UPPSC released the judiciary prelims admit card for all the applicants who successfully submit the application form. 

UPPSC Judiciary admit card 2021 download link will be updated here. Candidates who clear the prelims stage and fill up the mains form will be issued the UP PCS J mains hall ticket.

UPPSC J Result

UPPSC Judiciary Result 2021 will be published as per the selection process. The UPPSC will release the UP Civil Judge Result 2021 for the prelims exam to begin with. Candidates who clear the prelims exam will be called for the mains exam. UPPSC will then release the mains results announcing candidates who will appear for the interview phase. 

The final PCS J Result 2021 will be announced notifying the list of candidates selected for the civil judge post.

UPPSC releases the answer key for the UP Judiciary exam for all the sets on the official website. Applicants can download the answer key pdf and calculate the marks to ascertain their performance.
