## A resistor is connected across a 50 V source, the current in the resistor if the colour code is red, orange and silver is 217.4 A.

Solution:

The resistor colour coding scheme prints coloured bands on the body of the resistor to indicate the value of its resistance.

In this scheme, each colour band position and colour will have a significant value.

Given,

Resistor colour code = red, orange, silver

Resistance of resistor = red→(2), orange→(3), silver→(×10-2)

Resistance =23×10-2=0.23Ω

So, 50 V source is connected across a resistor of resistance 0.23Ω,

So, current through resistor I=50 Volts/R

I=50 Volts/0.23Ω =217.4 A
