GATE Electrical Engineering examination 2023 registration process is started by the officials. The exam will be conducted by IIT Kanpur this year. Authorities have earlier released the general exam dates for conducting the GATE exam. The GATE EE exam will be conducted on one of the following dates: 4, 5, 11, and 12 February 2023. What is GATE Electrical Engineering Exam?

GATE or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering for Electrical Engineering discipline is an All-India level examination conducted once every year. The exam is conducted for post-graduate engineering admissions and screening for entry-level engineering jobs. With a good score in the GATE EE exam, you will be eligible to take admission for M.Tech in Indian or foreign universities. Further, you will also be able to take up a job in PSUs depending upon their recruitment notice. 

To qualify for the GATE Electrical Engineering exam, you need to score the required cut-off marks as per your category. The valid GATE EE score can be used for up to three to two years depending on the notice released by the individual institution.

GATE Electrical Engineering Eligibility Criteria 2023

The GATE Electrical Engineering eligibility criteria will be released by IIT Kanpur along with the official notification. The GATE EE eligibility criteria for aspiring candidates are mentioned below.

  • An applicant studying in the 3rd or higher years of any UG degree is eligible to appear for the GATE exam for Electrical Engineering.
  • Also, Candidates who have completed any degree program in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts are eligible to apply.
  • There is no age limit to apply for the exam subject to fulfillment of the eligibility criteria.
  • Students who are from Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Ethiopia, and United Arab Emirates (UAE) must have completed or pursued final year studies or are in the pre-final year of their bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Technology or equivalent.

GATE EE Exam Pattern 2023

Candidates must understand the GATE EE exam pattern in a comprehensive manner before beginning their exam preparation. GATE exam pattern for Electrical Engineering will be released along with the detailed brochure. 

The GATE Electrical Engineering exam will be a Computer-based test (CBT) consisting of three kinds of questions, Multiple choice questions (MCQ), multiple select questions (MSQ), and numerical answer type (NAT) questions. The duration of the examination is 3 hours.

GATE Electrical Engineering Selection Process

The GATE EE selection procedure is a two-step process. Candidates must appear for the online exam. After appearing for the exam, a valid GATE EE score is necessary to move to the next step of the selection process. The GATE score remains valid for two to three years from the date of the announcement of results. The score is then used to apply to different institutes via CCMT (Centralised Counselling for M.Tech/M.Plan) process for admissions. GATE score for Electrical Engineering can also be used to apply for the recruitment process of various PSUs and private institutions.

GATE EE Admit Card 2023

GATE EE admit card 2023 will be made available on the official website. Candidates who apply successfully will be able to download the GATE EE admit card to take the online examination. GATE EE Result 2023

GATE EE result 2023 will be released on the official website. The GATE result for Electrical Engineering is decided on the basis of the final answer key. The cut-off marks are also released on the date of declaration of the result. After the declaration of the result, the authorities will release the GATE EE scorecard for the candidates obtaining the cut-off marks. The scorecard is a qualifying marks statement for the candidates to pursue higher education or get a job at PSU.
