The GATE JRF Eligibility 2023 is decided by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for the fellowship amount on the official website. For the GATE exam, the conducting IIT decides the eligibility. Lakhs of candidates appear for the exam, whereas a handful is eligible for the fellowship. CSIR JRF GATE Eligibility 2023

CSIR JRF Eligibility holds the atmost importance when it comes to the selection process. Candidates who wish to pursue CSIR JRF GATE must check the eligibility details in detail and apply online. When awarded a CSIR JRF fellowship through a GATE score, students must register for Ph.D. in any institution, including AcSIR. Engineering graduates with GATE qualifications interested in pursuing an Integrated MTech Ph.D. program can be registered in AcSIR only.

CSIR JRF GATE Educational Qualification

Interested candidates must check their education qualifications for the CSIR JRF GATE exam before filling out the application form. The educational qualification is a prerequisite for the application form. If the candidate doesn’t satisfy the given minimum education qualification, his candidature will be rejected.

  • BE/ B.Tech degree in an engineering discipline with a valid GATE score. OR
  • B.Pharm degree and have qualified GPAT OR
  • Candidates with B.Tech in Biotechnology with a valid GATE score and subject to securing a minimum 85.00 %ile in GATE.

GATE JRF Age Limit

There are no minimum age limit criteria for the JRF GATE fellowship. The upper age limit for the CSIR JRF GATE exam is 28 years. The candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC)/ Scheduled Tribes (ST), women, and physically handicapped are entitled to age relaxation of up to 5 years. The OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates have an age relaxation of 3 years.

GATE JRF Eligibility: Marks Required

BE/B. Tech degree holders in engineering with a valid GATE score of 85.00 percentile. Candidates with a B.Pharm degree should have qualified GPAT, or Candidates with B.Tech in Biotechnology should hold a valid GATE score and secure a minimum 85.00 percentile in GATE. Those candidates not eligible who hold ME/ M. Tech degrees and the ones eligible for direct CSIR-SRF are also not eligible to apply for CSIR JRF through GATE score.

  • The eligibility for GATE JRF is decided by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for the fellowship. The GATE eligibility is decided by the concerned Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). The candidates have an engineering degree and must not be more than 28 years of age. 

  • The age limit of GATE JRF for different categories is mentioned below,

    • General Candidate - 28 years
    • OBC - 31 years
    • SC/ ST/ PwD - 33 years
  • The candidates must have the required qualifications for the GATE JRF exam, which are mentioned below:

    • BE/ B.Tech degree in an engineering discipline with a valid GATE score. or
    • B.Pharm degree and have qualified GPAT or
    • Candidates with B.Tech in Biotechnology with a valid GATE score and subject to securing a minimum 85.00 %ile in GATE.
  • There is no percentage requirement for the GATE JRF exam. Candidates must have the required education qualification and have a good percentile in the GATE.

     
  • Candidates who have educational qualifications and the age limit must be below the threshold limit set by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
