World Zoonoses Day is celebrated every year on July 6 since 1885. This day is observed globally to honor the success of French biologist Louis Pasteur who gave the first vaccination against the zoonotic disease, rabies. World Zoonotic Day sheds light on educating people and raising awareness of the zoonotic diseases that are transmitted from animals to humans. Some examples of zoonotic diseases include Ebola, Brucellosis, Zoonotic influenza, West Nile Virus, etc.
