The MDR Full form is Multiple Drug Resistant. When certain microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, and fungi, are resistant to treatment with one or more anti-microbial drugs, this condition is referred to as “multiple drug resistance.” These anti-microbial medications are also referred to as antimicrobial agents.

Organisms that have three or more drug resistances are referred to as multiple drug-resistant organisms. A class of drugs known as an antimicrobial category targets particular types of organisms or has similar effects.
