The elements of weather and climate are atmospheric pressure, temperature, wind, humidity, and precipitation. Climate is the accumulation of weather conditions and variations over a large area over a long period of time. Weather, on the other hand, refers to the state of the atmosphere over an area at any given time.

Elements of Weather and Climate
The weather and climate of a location are affected by a variety of factors and elements. All elements of atmospheric pressure, temperature, wind, humidity, and precipitation must be ideal for ideal climatic conditions. The weather-related factors are discussed further below.
The factors that affect climate are latitude, altitude, pressure and wind system, distance from the sea, ocean currents, and relief features.
- Latitude: The distance north or south of the equator, measured along the meridian of that place as an angle from the centre of the earth is called latitude.
- Altitude: The distance above sea level is referred to as altitude.
- Pressure and Wind System: The air always moves from high-pressure areas to low-pressure areas, whereas wind is the movement of air from a high-pressure area to a low-pressure area.
- Ocean Current: The streams of water flowing constantly on the ocean surface in definite directions are known as Ocean currents.
