  • Joint ownership: An IAS officer can be a joint owner of a business or property. However, the officer cannot actively participate in the management or operations of the business.
  • Investment in stocks and shares: An IAS officer can invest in stocks and shares of any company. However, the officer must disclose such investments and avoid any conflict of interest.

It is important for an IAS officer to follow the rules and regulations regarding business and other employment to maintain the integrity and impartiality of their position. Any violation of these rules can result in disciplinary action.

Roles and Responsibilities of IAS Officer
