What is the Use of BIOS?

BIOS is used to set up the computer after it is powered on. BIOS or Basic Input Output System is found in the motherboard and it is the first thing that is run in software after power is on to supervise data between the operating system and its connected devices like video adapter, mouse, hard disk, printer, and keyboard. This process is also known as the boot process.
- In 1975, BIOS was first noted by Gary Kildall an American computer scientist.
- Then it was integrated into IBM’s first personal computer in 1981.
- Whereas in 2017 Intel has announced to replace the BIOS system with UEFI.
