1. Healthy Lifestyle – There is a famous saying Health is Wealth. So it is important that you should follow a healthy lifestyle. It will also help you to keep your stress levels minimum.

  • Allow yourself some breaks: It is essential to take breaks at regular intervals in order to keep the mind active. The break will help you to lighten the mood and bring in more concentration.
  • Avoid excess caffeine: Many aspirants fall into the trap that coffee or energy drinks help them in their study. They may be thinking that it will help them in a study into the night, but it’s more likely that you’ll crash.
  • Exercise & Meditation: It is a great practice to control each and every organ in our life. Meditation is the art of controlling your body and brain. Exercise & Meditation helps to oxygenate the brain, release tension, relax, and help you to study more efficiently.

2. Be your own motivator: There is a famous saying “Push yourself because no one else is going to do it for you”. So it’s your goal, so you have to make efforts to achieve it. Never wait for others to motivate you or remind you about your goals.

4. Small Goals: Mini-happiness will exist for a long time. Most of the time what happens is that many aspirants will keep a high level of expectations and targets during preparation. Therefore, things such as not achieving big targets, full marks in test series, etc can easily disappoint them. Instead of that, keep your energy level high. Always make realistic & small goals that are achievable. Set mini-goals and try to gain those. This will boost your energy & help you to keep motivated.

5. Evaluate yourself regularly: You must evaluate yourself at regular intervals. You should allocate sufficient time for testing yourself through practice and mock tests on a weekly or monthly basis. This will act work as a feedback mechanism for your preparation and help in rectifying your mistakes.

6. Avoid daydreaming: Daydreaming is imagined scenarios while one is awake. It is common for many aspirants they end up dreaming about achieving their goals rather than building a reliable path that leads to it. To succeed in any exam, whether it is UPSC or UPPCS one must have a proper plan and an executable preparation strategy.

5. Be Thankful: There is an article published by Harvard Medical School that Giving thanks can make you happier. So if you feel demotivated count down your blessings. This will instantly make you feel happy. When you’re grateful for the things in your life, even if it’s something as simple as a roof over your head, it gives you more self-esteem.
