UGC NET Exam Analysis 2021 Paper 1 (Shift 1) 21 November: Questions Asked, Difficulty Level, Cut Off

NTA conducts UGC NET in 81 subjects. UGC NET Exam is conducted twice every year but this year due to Covid, December 2020 and  June 2021 were merged. Shift 1 of UGC NET on 21st November is over now. The paper is divided into 2 sections, i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper-1 Consist of 50 questions and Paper-2 consists of 100 Questions. Today Law and Psychology exams were conducted.

NTA UGC NET Shifts Details 20th November 2021

UGC NET COVID Instructions at Exam Center by NTA

1. Wearing of mask/face cover and Social distancing was mandatory for all candidates.

2. Items allowed in Examination Centers - Admit Card along with Self Declaration; A valid ID card, transparent Ball Point Pen; Additional photograph, Personal hand sanitiser; transparent water bottle.

3. No candidates were allowed without the COVID self-declaration form at the admit card signed and attached.

4. Candidates were expected to fill in details on admit card including thumb impressions in advance from home.

  • Paper 1: The Paper was mostly moderate to difficult. 
  • Paper 2: The level of the exam varied from subject to subject.

UGC NET Exam Analysis 2021: Key Points

  • Just like the previous shift on 20th November, in the teaching aptitude section- Teaching levels, Domain of Teaching were asked. 
  • In the Research Aptitude section Research Ethics, Hypothesis testing, Research Report and Type of research was asked. 
  • Reading Comprehension was easy as per the candidates, it was based on classroom Management. 
  • In the logical reasoning section Questions from Praman, Upman, knowledge and fallacies were asked. 
  • In the Maths section questions from Ratio, Average, Simple interest were there. 
  • In Data Interpretation the questions were Previous Year and were repeated.  
  • In People and Environment Unit SDG, Agreement (conference + commissions), water pollution were asked which again were also there in the previous shift. 
  • Communication Barriers, group communications, classroom communication were asked in the Communication section. 
  • In the Higher Education Unit questions like Commissions in chronological order, NEP 2020 (which level) type questions were there. 
  • In ICT Full forms, GOI (parts, cable, LI), input-output devices, GB-TB- memory order questions and a bit to byte conversion kinds of questions were asked.

UGC NET Exam Review 1st Shift 20th November 2021 (Section-wise)

A. UGC NET Exam Review 2021 (Shift 1): Teaching Aptitude

  •  Just like the previous shift on 20th November, in the teaching aptitude section- Teaching levels, Domain of Teaching were asked.
  • The level of questions was Moderate. 

B. UGC NET Exam Review 2021 (Shift 1): Research Aptitude

  • In the Research Aptitude section Research Ethics, Hypothesis testing, Research Report and Type of research was asked. 
  • According to the candidates, this section was specifically tricky to solve. 

C. UGC NET Exam Review 2021 (Shift 1): Environment

  • In People and Environment Unit SDG, Agreement (conference + commissions), water pollution were asked which again were also there in the previous shift. 
  • The level of questions was moderate to slightly difficult.

D. UGC NET Exam Review 2021 (Shift 1): Communication

  • Communication Barriers, group communications, classroom communication were asked in the Communication section. 
  • This section was easy to moderate to solve. 

E. UGC NET Exam Review 2021 (Shift 1): Higher Education

  • In the Higher Education Unit questions like Commissions in chronological order, NEP 2020 (which level) type questions were there. 
  • Candidates are advised to take notes of every important Commissions etc for this section as it is getting repeated. 

F. UGC NET Exam Review 2021 (Shift 1): Reading comprehension

  • Reading Comprehension was easy as per the candidates, it was based on classroom Management. 
  • Candidates can score all 5 Marks in this section. 

G. UGC NET Exam Review 2021 (Shift 1): Maths and Reasoning

  • In the Maths section questions from Ratio, Average, Simple interest were there. 
  • The level of the question was moderate to difficult for some candidates.

H. UGC NET Exam Review 2021 (Shift 1): Data Interpretation

  • In Data Interpretation the questions were Previous Year and were repeated.  
  • There were questions like appear-pass-fail ratio in this section. 

I. UGC NET Exam Review 2021 (Shift 1): Logical Reasoning

  • In the logical reasoning section Questions from Praman, Upman, knowledge and fallacies were asked.
  • The level of the questions in this section was slightly difficult. 

J. UGC NET Exam Review 2021 (Shift 1): Information and Communication Technology
