The full form of REET is Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers. It is one of the highly anticipated exams in the state of Rajasthan. REET is conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (BSER).

It is a state-level exam that is used to assess the teaching abilities of candidates aspiring to be teachers at two different levels: Level 1 (Primary Teacher) and Level 2 (Upper Primary Teacher). Unlike the CTET, REET is only valid in the state of Rajasthan. This means that the process from exam centers to job allocation will be confined to the state.

REET stands for Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers. Candidates seeking to make their career in the teaching profession in the state of Rajasthan can write REET. After clearing the exam for Level 1 or Level 2, candidates become eligible for appearing in the REET Mains. 

  • BSER announces vacancies for Primary Teachers and Upper Primary Teachers to employ suitable candidates for the vacant positions.
  • Candidates who want to apply for both Primary Level and Upper Primary Level have to clear both Level 1 and Level 2 papers.
  • Candidates have the option to apply for any level or both as per their interests and qualification.
  • The exam centers are only available in the state of Rajasthan.
  • Candidates meeting the REET Eligibility Criteria can only apply for the exam.

What is REET?

REET is conducted in offline mode i.e. it is a pen-paper-based test. Candidates are provided with an OMR sheet on which they have to mark the answers to the questions asked in the exam. The exam is held for a total of 150 marks for both Level 1 and Level 2.

The subjects that are included in the REET syllabus for Level 1 are Child pedagogy, language, mathematics, and environmental studies. On the other hand, Child pedagogy, language, mathematics, physics, and social science are all included in the syllabus of Level 2.

  • There is no provision for negative marking.
  •  So, candidates can attempt as many questions as they want to pass the exam. 
  • Candidates must score 60% or above in the exam to become eligible to get a REET certificate.
