Prime Numbers 1 to 100: Total Prime Numbers Between 1 and 100

The prime numbers from 1 to 100 are 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, 53, 59, 61, 67, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89, and 97. So, there are total 25 prime numbers between 1 and 100. Prime numbers are those numbers that only have two factors 1 and another factor as the number itself. The first five prime numbers, for instance, are 2, 3, 5, 7, and 11. Numbers with more than two factors, however, are referred to as composite numbers.

A whole number greater than 1 with only the number 1 and itself as factors is known as a prime number. A whole number that divides into another number equally is referred to as a factor. The prime numbers cannot be divided into factors because they only have the number itself and the number 1 as factors. 2 is the only even prime number from 1 to 100. Except 2, all other prime numbers up to 100 are odd.
Why is 1 not a prime number?
