Kerala SET Exam Pattern 2023 is an integral part of the Kerala State Eligibility Test preparation strategy. LBS Center, Tiruvanantpuram, is the exam conducting body of this highly competitive exam in Kerala State. The sole purpose of the Kerala SET 2023 exam is to filter knowledgeable teachers for Higher Secondary Schools in the state. There will be two papers in the exam. Paper-1 will test the teaching skills of candidates, and Paper-2 is subject-specific.

Kerala SET Exam Pattern 2023

The LBS Centre for Science and Technology will release the Kerala SET Exam Pattern 2023 and the official Notification. Candidates who have submitted the registration form for Kerala SET Exam will face 240 multiple choice questions. To pass this exam, all serious candidates must be familiar with the Kerala SET Syllabus and Kerala SET Exam Pattern.

To ensure the quality of teaching in higher secondary courses, the Kerala SET Exam is held twice a year. According to the Kerala SET Exam Pattern 2023, Both papers for Kerala SET 2023 will be organized in offline mode. There will be only a written test in the examination. Kerala SET Exam Pattern 2023: Paper 1

General Knowledge and Teaching Aptitude are the two subjects that makeup Paper 1 of the Kerala SET exam. There will be 60 MCQs in each segment of the question paper, for a total of 120 MCQs worth 1 mark. The question paper must be solved within two hours. Kerala SET Exam Pattern 2023: Paper 2

The Kerala SET Paper 2 exam is given in 31 different subject areas. Based on their field of postgraduate (PG) level expertise, candidates must choose their subject for Paper 2 when completing the Kerala SET application form. Except for the areas of mathematics and statistics, which have 80 MCQs at 1.5 marks each, the paper has a total of 120 MCQs worth 1 mark each. The question paper must be solved within two hours. Kerala SET 2023: Minimum Marks Required 

As per the Kerala SET Exam Pattern 2023, applicants must score equal to or more than qualifying marks. For general candidates, the qualifying score will be 40. On the other hand, reserved category Kerala SET applicants will be declared qualified if they score at least 35 on Paper-1 and 2.

Kerala SET 2023 Marking Scheme

Applying candidate should have knowledge about the marking scheme of the Kerala State Eligibility Test. Here are the points about the marking system. 

  • Aspirants will obtain one mark for each correct answer in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the Kerala SET Exam.
  • The only exception would be in Paper II's Mathematics and Statistics topics.
  • In these two subjects, each correct answer will add 1.5 marks to the aspirant's overall score.
  • In the Kerala SET 2023 exam, there is no negative marking.

  • Candidates who will be appearing for Kerala State Eligibility Test this year should have a clear understanding of the Kerala SET Exam Pattern 2023. Negative marking, number of questions, total marks, marking scheme, etc are the important parts covered in it.

  • There will be no negative marking system in Kerala SET. It means candidates can answer without worrying about the score deduction on answering incorrectly. As per the Kerala SET Exam Pattern 2023, 1 mark will be added on the right answer but no change in score on the wrong answer.

  • As per the Kerala SET Exam Pattern 2023, General candidates should obtain at least 40% marks in Paper-1 and 2 to pass the exam. Reserved category applicants will pass the exam if they score 35%. Specially abled candidates will get relaxation of 5%.

  • There will be 240 questions to solve in a given 4 hours. As per the rules of the Kerala SET Exam Pattern, candidates will get 120 minutes to solve 120 multiple-choice questions for each paper. However, mathematics and Statistics subjects will have 80 questions with 1.5 marks each. 

  • There are two papers in Kerala SET. Paper 1 has two parts, A and B, both contain 60 questions of 1 mark each. Paper 2 has 120 questions of 1 mark each. For Mathematics & Statistics, 1.5 marks per question is awarded.
