AP SET Exam Pattern 2022 is released by Andhra Pradesh University in the official notification. Candidates preparing for the Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (APSET 2022) must be well versed with the APSET paper pattern 2022 for both Papers 1 & 2.

AP SET Exam Pattern 2022 Overview

Andhra Pradesh University will release APSET forms 2022 after the release of the official exam notification. Following is a brief overview of the APSET paper pattern.

  • The question papers of APSET will be divided into two parts. Paper 1 and Paper 2 respectively.
  • APSET Paper 1 is both common and compulsory for all.
  • It has two parts. In Part A, there will be questions related to General Knowledge and in Part B there will be Teaching Aptitude questions.
  • APSET Paper 2 is purely based on the candidate's post-graduation subject.
  • All the questions will be asked in MCQ format.

  • Paper 1 is general in nature. With paper 1, the candidate's knowledge of teaching and aptitude will be tested. It will consist of mathematics/reasoning, general awareness, understanding and divergent thinking of the candidate.
  • Paper 1 will consist of 50 MCQs. Each question will carry 2 marks.
  • Paper 2 is subject-specific.
  • Paper 2 will consist of 100 MCQs. Each question will carry 2 marks.
  • The APSET examination will be in offline mode i.e. on the OMR sheets.
  • There is no negative marking.

Medium of APSET Question Paper

  • Paper 1 of APSET will be bilingual i.e. it will be in both English and Telugu.
  • Paper 2, will be bilingual for some subjects. These subjects are: a) Commerce b) Economics c) Education d) History e) Political Science f) Public Administration and g) Sociology.
  • All other subjects will be held alone in English, except Hindi, Sanskrit, Telugu and Urdu.

Andhra Pradesh SET Selection Process

The APSET 2022 Selection Procedure is just the same as the UGC NET and other SET exams. The qualifying candidates must have scored equal to or above the decided cut off. For qualifying, APSET candidates must come in the top 6% of students. Those who qualify APSET exam will become eligible for Assistant Professor in the state of Andhra Pradesh. 

The detailed selection procedure and criteria for APSET 2022 will help candidates understand the exact selection process followed in the APSET exam. According to the APSET selection procedure, candidates must appear on Paper 1 and Paper 2 at the same time. Candidates must choose the subjects they studied at the postgraduate level.

Step-wise APSET Selection Procedure 2022

  • Step- I: The selection process for APSET 2022 will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations set by the University Scholarship Committee (UGC). According to UGC rules, only 6% of candidates who pass the APSET 2022 exam are eligible to work as assistant professors at colleges or universities across the state.
  • Step- II: The reservation policy of Andhra Pradesh will be used to allocated reservations for different categories.
  • Step- III: For the General/EWS category, the candidates must appear in both the papers and secure at least 40% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together. For SC, ST, OBC (belonging to Non-Creamy Layer)/PWD and Transgender the aggregate must be at least 35%.
  • Step- IV: The number of candidates to be declared qualified in any subject for a particular category is derived as per the following methodology illustrated below:

APSET Minimum Qualifying Marks & Merit List

The APSET qualifying candidates must have the minimum marks (set by the agency itself) in both paper 1 and paper 2 combined. The minimum marks criteria will be different according to the categories i.e. general and reserved categories.

To qualify for the APSET 2022, the candidate must score equal to or more than the cutoff. After the APSET Exam is conducted, a merit list is released of successful candidates. Check all the details about the minimum marks to be obtained in APSET and the merit list.

APSET Merit List

Andhra Pradesh University announces the APSET Merit List after the exam is completed. The merit list will have the list of all the qualifying candidates who will later be awarded the APSET E-Certificate and will be eligible for Assistant Professor in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

APSET Exam Exam Pattern FAQs

  • AP SET Paper-1 consist of 50 questions, each question is of 2 marks and Paper-2 consist of 100 questions, each question is of 2 marks. There is no negative marking.

  • APSET Paper-1 is of 1 hour and Paper 2 is two hours. There is NO gap of half-hour in paper-1 and paper-2.

  • Andhra Pradesh SET will be conducted in offline mode i.e. OMR based.

  • There are 30 subjects in APSET Exam.

  •  After qualifying APSET exam, candidates become eligible for Assistant Professor in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

     
  • Candidates will be able to download the APSET certificate online after qualifying for the exam.

  • For the general category 40% aggregate and for reserved categories, 35% aggregate in both the APSET papers is required to pass.
