APSET Eligibility Criteria 2023

Candidates who are taking the exam must be Andhra Pradesh State residents and have completed a master's degree. The candidates belonging to other states are also eligible, however, they will be considered under General Category. The minimum requirements that each applicant must satisfy in order to register for the exam are known as APSET Eligibility Criteria. APSET Age Limit 2023

Candidates must adhere to the APSET Age Limit requirements because they determine whether or not they will be permitted to take the examination. As there is no upper age limit for applying for APSET 2023. A Master's Degree is the minimum educational requirement to appear in the exam. As a result, Candidates must have sufficient experience to enroll in a Master's degree programme.

APSET Educational Qualification 2023

The authority has imposed a minimum educational requirement for applicants to the exam, similar to the age limit. For consideration, an applicant must satisfy the APSET Education Qualification requirements. One of the most important eligibility requirements is educational qualifications.   • Candidates who have obtained a score of at least 55% (without rounding off) in a master's degree or equivalent exam from a UGC-recognized university/institution are eligible to take this exam.
  • Candidates in the backward class (BC)/Scheduled caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Transgender/Handicapped (PwD) category with a master's degree or equivalent examination with at least 50% (without rounding off) is eligible to take this test.
  • Candidates who are still pursuing Master's or equivalent courses, candidates who have taken a qualified Master's exam but are still awaiting results, or candidates whose qualification exams have been postponed can also apply for this exam. However, such candidates will be admitted temporarily, and only if they pass a master's degree or equivalent exam and score at least 55% (BC/SC/ST/PwD/Transgender category candidates). Such candidates must complete a master's degree or equivalent exam within two years from the date of the result and complete the required percentage of the score, otherwise, they will be considered disqualified.
  • It is recommended that candidates only appear in their post-graduation subjects. Candidates whose subjects are not included in the SET subject list may appear in the corresponding subjects.
  • Candidates do not need to send any certificates/documents to prove their qualifications to the APSET office, nor do they need to print their application form (confirmation page).

APSET Nationality 2023

The nationality requirements for APSET Eligibility 2023 candidates must be met. A candidate won't be able to apply for the exam if they don't meet the requirements.

  • A candidate appearing for the APSET exam must be an Indian national. Candidates of different nationalities are not allowed to sign up for the exam.

APSET Exemption Criteria 2023

APSET Eligibility shall remain the minimum required condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities/Colleges/Institutions of Higher education (Government/Aided/Private) in Andhra Pradesh State. Candidates must check some of the APSET Exemption Criteria 2023 below:

  • A relaxation of 5% in the minimum marks required, will be provided to SC/ST/OBC/Transgender candidates. 
  • Degree holders with a PhD who completed the master's examination prior to September 19, 1991 (regardless of the announcement date of the result) must be eligible for a 5% relaxation.
  • NET/SET/SLET will continue to be the minimum qualifications for the recruitment and appointment of assistant professors at universities/colleges/institutions. In this regard, the NET/SET/SLET exemption will be subject to UGC regulations and amendments notified from time to time by the Indian Gazette.

  • The certificate must be presented by candidates who are in their final year within two years of the date the results were released.
  • All applications are considered provisional and will be rejected if the organisation in charge of handling the exam finds any mistakes.
  • Candidates from the reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) who are not residents of the state of Andhra Pradesh will only be considered general candidates.
