MPPSC Exam Pattern is released by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission. The MPPSC exam has three stages: Prelims, Mains, and Interview. Check here the MPPSC exam pattern for all the stages in detail.

MPPSC Exam Pattern: The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission is going to conduct a recruitment drive for 456 vacancies on 21 May 2023. Candidates who wish to apply for the exam need to start their preparation right now for which they first need to know the MPPSC Exam Pattern and Syllabus.

The MPPSC exam pattern comprises 3 stages which are Preliminary, Mains, and Interview. In order to be considered for the post, candidates need to clear all three stages. Candidates must be well versed with the MPSSC exam pattern 2023 to make a preparation strategy and start preparing accordingly.

In order to understand the MPPSC exam pattern, candidates need to understand the selection process of the exam which comprises of the two examinations stages and one interview round. MPPSC Exam Pattern For Prelims

Candidates who are applying for the MPPSC exam need to appear in the preliminary exam which is of qualifying nature. Candidates who clear the preliminary exam by scoring more than the MPPSC cutoff will be called for the main examination.

  • The preliminary examination is the first stage of the MPPSC exam.
  • It consists of two papers: General Studies (Paper I) and General Aptitude Test (Paper II).
  • Both papers are objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
  • Each paper carries 200 marks.
  • The duration of each paper is usually 2 hours.
  • The minimum qualifying marks for the Prelims examination are 40%.
  • The MPPSC Prelims exam will be conducted in both Hindi and English.

Note: According to the MPPSC exam pattern, as there is no provision of negative marking for any number of wrong answers, So, aspirants are advised to attempt the maximum number of questions in the examination to increase the chances to qualify it.

MPPSC Exam Pattern For Mains

Candidates who qualify the preliminary examination are eligible for the main examination. The candidates score in the Mains exam will be considered for final selection. The MPPSC main examination consists of the following six papers.

  • The General Studies papers cover various subjects such as History, Geography, Economics, Polity, Science and Technology, etc.
  • The General Hindi paper tests the candidate's proficiency in Hindi.
  • The Essay Writing paper assesses the candidate's ability to express their thoughts in a coherent and structured manner.
  • Each paper is descriptive in nature and carries different marks (ranging from 100 to 300 marks).
  • The duration of each paper is usually 3 hours.

MPPSC 2023 Interview/ Personality Test

The Interview round is the last round of the MPPSC Selection Process. Candidates selected after the Mains Exam are called for the interview. The interview is conducted to assess the candidate's personality, communication skills, knowledge, and suitability for the administrative role. The interview carries a maximum of 175 marks.

The final selection of candidates is based on their performance in the main examination and interview. The marks obtained in the preliminary examination are usually not counted for the final selection.
