What Next After MICAT 2 Exam: Know All MICAT Admission Process

After the declaration of the result, MICA Ahmedabad will release the list of shortlisted aspirants for further two rounds: GE and PI rounds. Note the below table to get an overview of the processes that will happen after MICAT 2.

Shortlisting after MICAT Exam

The aspirants will be shortlisted based on their performance in CAT/XAT/GMAT and MICAT. The aspirants, who had appeared for both MICAT 1 and MICAT 2 exams, their best scores will be considered for GE-PI shortlist preparation. You can also check the MICAT Exam Cut Off 2022.

Firstly, the aspirants will be shortlisted based on their score in Section A of the MICAT exam (Psychometric Test). If the aspirants pass this section, then their Selection Process for MICAT Exam will be done in the following way. 

• The aspirants who qualify for the MICAT psychometric test, their relative performance on CAT/XAT/GMAT will be considered. The aspirants, who will clear a minimum cutoff in CAT/XAT total percentile/ GMAT score, shall also be considered.
• Based on the aspirants’ CAT/XAT/GMAT performance, section B of MICAT exam 2022 will be assessed.
• The candidates who qualify based on the relative performance in Section-B, their Section-C will be assessed.
• If the aspirants qualify in all the sections, they will be considered for shortlisting for the GE-PI round of the MICAT exam.
• If the aspirants are shortlisted, they can expect a call for GE-PI rounds of the MICAT exam at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Delhi, and Mumbai.

(Note: The aspiring candidates’ list for GE-PI will be prepared on the composite score formula of 50% CAT/XAT/GMAT and rest 50% from MICAT scores)

Final Merit List of MICAT Exam 

It is very important for the aspirants who have opted for admission to both PGDM and PGDM-C courses. Note the below points to get an idea for MICAT final list preparation.

• The admission will be granted based on the merit of the aspirants and their choices preferences for the programme. Once a candidate, as per the merit list, is offered admission from the programme of his/her first priority, then his/her name will be automatically be withdrawn from the list of the candidates in the programme of his/her second priority.
• Suppose the aspirant is offered admission in the programme of their second priority. In that case, he/she will get two options: either accept the offer with an undertaking that they are willing to withdraw their name from the list of the programme of their first priority, or refuse the offer and continue to wait in the waitlist programme of their first priority.
• For all those aspirants who will attempt the GE-PI rounds, their final selection will be based on the examiners of PI rounds.
