MICAT Selection Process 2023 official schedule is released by MICA Ahmedabad. The MICAT Selection Process includes GE (group exercise) and PI (personal interview). The institute will administer the MICAT twice. Following the MICAT 2023 Selection Process, a final merit list based on the MICAT score, group discussion, and personal interview will be released. MICAT Selection Process 2023

MICAT 2023 is a national-level MBA Exam conducted by MICA Ahmedabad for admission into the PGP courses. MICAT Exam is held in two phases: MICAT I and MICAT II. There is no difference between these two, and the best of the two scores will be considered for the MICAT Selection Process.

According to the MICAT 2023 Selection Process, the final selection of candidates is based on their CAT/XAT/GMAT score, MICAT Test, GE, and PI round. Although it is considered as one of the toughest exams of MBA/PGDM, the aspirant with persistent dedication and perseverance can easily cross all the hindrances coming his/her way.

MICAT 2023 Selection Process Details

MICA Ahmedabad hosts the MICAT Exam two times a year. Attending both tests is not mandatory. Candidates who take both the MICAT I and MICAT II will be given consideration based on the better of the two scores. Candidates who have been shortlisted will need to show up for the GE and PI, final selection sessions.

The different stages of the MICAT Selection Process are given below.

Stage 1 of MICAT Admission Process 2023: CAT/XAT/GMAT Score

  • Each aspirant must assure that he/she has appeared for any one of the three exams: CAT/XAT/GMAT.
  • Update your score options in the online application form of any exam which you wish to submit on the portal.
  • XAT aspirants only need to submit their registration number. The authority will directly collect your score from XLRI.

Stage 2 of MICAT Selection Process: MICA Admission Test

The candidates are assessed based on the MICAT, which consists of three sections:

  • Psychometric Test
  • Descriptive Test
  • Four sub-sections: Divergent and Convergent Thinking, Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QA & DI), and General Awareness.

Aspirants need to qualify for these three above-stated sectional tests to get selected for the GE-PI round. The sections of MICAT may not appear in the same order in the MICAT I and II tests.

Stage 3 of MICAT 2023 Selection Process: GE & PI

Group Exercise (GE)-Personal Interview (PI) Round is the last round of the MICAT Selection Process.

  • The aspirants will be shortlisted based on their performance in CAT/XAT/GMAT scores and MICAT 2023.
  • The composite score formula is prepared for the GE-PI round- 50% CAT/XAT/GMAT and 50% MICAT Score.
  • The shortlisted candidates will need to appear for GE & PI round for the final selection.

MICAT Selection Process 2023: Shortlisting of Candidates for GE-PI

Section A of MICAT 2023, i.e., Psychometric test, is a qualifier. This means those who qualify for the Psychometric test, their relative performance on XAT/CAT/GMAT will be taken into consideration.

  • The candidates who clear the minimum cutoff/percentile in CAT/XAT/GMAT exam shall be considered for the further MICAT Selection Process 2023.
  • The candidates who qualify based on CAT/XAT/ GMAT performance, and their section B of MICAT will be assessed.
  • The candidates who qualify based on their relative performance in Section-B, their Section-C will be assessed.
  • The candidates who qualify in all sections shall be considered for shortlisting for the GE-PI round.
  • The shortlisted candidates will be called for the GE-PI round at Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Mumbai.

MICAT Admission Process 2023: Preparation of Final Merit List

The candidates who have applied for both PGDM-C and PGDM programs, those candidates will be admitted according to the priority mentioned for the program as well as the merit list prepared.

  • According to the merit list, if the candidate is selected for his/her priority program, then his/her name will be withdrawn from the list of candidates belonging to the program of second priority.
  • If the candidate wishes to accept the offer of admission into the program of second priority, then, he/she has to withdraw his/her name from the priority program.
  • For all the candidates who will be called for GE-PI, their final selection will be based majorly on the examiners of PI.

Weightage of MICAT Selection Process

According to the MICAT 2023 Selection Process, candidates are selected for the final merit list only if they score at least 3.5 or more on a scale of 5 in the Group Exercise (GE) round and a minimum of 4 or above in the Personal Interview (PI). The MICAT final merit list is prepared based on the following weightage assigned to different stages of the test.

  • The MICAT selection process 2023 comprises GE (group exercise) and PI (personal interview). Candidates are shortlisted for GE & PI based on their performance in the CAT/ XAT/ GMAT and MICAT exams (I or II).

  • The candidate needs to appear for any one of the three exams: CAT/XAT/GMAT. Candidates need to update their scores in the MICAT application Form online.

  • No, the MICAT exam is only held for admission to MICA, Ahmedabad. However, the XAT, CAT, or GMAT scores can be used by applicants for admission to any other institute.
