MICAT 2 Scorecard has been released. Candidates can now check the detailed MICAT exam analysis 2022 below. MICAT 2022 exam consist of three sections. Section A is a Psychometric Test, followed by a Descriptive Test of 25 minutes. The last section further contains 4 parts that need to be solved in 80 minutes. MICAT 2022 is an all-India Entrance Exam for admission into PGDM programs offered by Mudra Institute of Communication, Ahmedabad. MICAT is conducted for admission to a 2-year PGDM-C (Post Graduate Diploma in Management Communication) and PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management).

MICAT is conducted twice a year as MICAT 1 and MICAT 2 in December and January respectively. You can appear for both the tests or either of them that are conducted as MICAT 1 and MICAT 2 for the 2022-24 admissions. MICAT 1 was held on 04 December 2021, and MICAT 2 will be held on 29 January 2022. In the next stage of the selection process, the higher score is taken into account. MICAT exam results are given 50% weightage by MICA, while CAT/XAT/MICAT scores are given 50% weightage by MICA.

What is MICAT Exam?

MICA Admission Test is a National level test conducted by MICA Ahmedabad for admission to its flagship course Post-Graduate Programme in Management- Communications. Aspirants who want to pursue a management course from MICA should appear for this test. The test differs from other MBA entrance tests as it not only involves objective questions but also subjective ones. Apart from this, normally MBA tests have only four sections, i.e. Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, General Awareness & Divergent-Convergent Reasoning. But the MICA test has two more sections, namely- Psychometric Test & Descriptive Test. These points differ from all other exams.

MICAT Eligibility Criteria 2022

The eligibility criteria to appear for MICAT 2022 exam is given below. It is important to go through the MICAT 2022 eligibility before applying for the exam. 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  2. Candidates in their final year of graduation are eligible to appear for the MICAT Exam 2022.
  3. Candidates should have appeared in at least one of the three MBA Exams, namely CAT 2020, XAT 2020, and GMAT (from 2019 onwards).
  4. Foreign nationals/NRIs need a valid GMAT score after 2012 and a passport.

MICAT 2022 Selection Process

The selection process for PGDM-C and PGDM through MICAT 2022 exam is given below: 

  1. Appear for one of the three exams: CAT/ XAT/GMAT 
  2. Appear for MICA Admission Test (MICAT). 
  3. GE & PI: Shortlisted candidates from MICAT will have to appear for both Group Exercise (GE) & Personal Interview (PI).

Shortlisting Criteria for GE and PI for MICA

Given below are the criteria for selection into GE and PI for admissions into MICA. 

  1. Applicants need to clear the psychometric test or section A of the MICAT exam.
  2. After clearing the psychometric test, candidates’ relative performance will be calculated based on their CAT/XAT/GMAT scores. The minimum cut-off marks in CAT/XAT/GMAT will be considered.
  3. Candidates who clear as per their scores in CAT/XAT/GMAT will then have to qualify the Section B of MICAT exam.
  4. Those who clear the above two steps (qualify on the basis of relative performance subject to a minimum cut-off in scaled/normalized Scores of Section B of MICAT) will now have to qualify for the Descriptive test, i.e. Section C of MICAT exam. Each section will have its own cut-off.
  5. Those who will qualify as per the marks stated in the above points, (on the basis of relative performance subject to a minimum cut-off in normalized scores of section C) will be called to appear for the GE and PI.
  6. The GE and PI list is prepared on the composite score formula of 50% CAT/XAT/GMAT and 50% of MICAT scores.
  7. Here is the marks distribution weightage for the selection process into MICA.
  • CAT/XAT/GMAT: 20%

  • GE: 20%
  • PI: 30%

The exam pattern for MICAT 2022 has undergone a few minor changes which are mentioned below.

  • MICAT 2022 exam duration is reduced by 30 minutes making it a total of 2 Hours 15 minutes.
  • There are three sections with a total of 6 tests in the MICAT exam.
  • First qualifying round is Section A or the psychometric test.
  • A negative marking of 0.25 mark is for VA, QA, GA, and DCR. 
  • There is no negative marking in the Descriptive section and Psychometric section.
