CAT Score Validity

According to the current trends, the Validity of CAT Score is only for 1 year. Following that, candidates must sit for the CAT Exam in the following year in order to get admitted to the desired institutes. The CAT Sore Validity will remain active for one year, that is, until 31 December 2023.

Importance of CAT Score Card

IIMs and several other prestigious B-schools in the country use CAT scores as part of their shortlisting and final selection process while also taking into consideration a candidate’s academic and professional background. Each institute has unique selection criteria, assigning different weightage to CAT scores, work experience, academic and gender diversity, and 10th, 12th, and graduation scores.

Soon after the CAT Result declaration, IIM Bangalore will send an SMS to all the candidates who appeared for the exam mentioning their overall CAT Percentile. Candidates can download the detailed CAT Score Card 2022 by following these steps

• Visit the CAT Official Website
• Click on ‘Registered Candidate Login’
• Enter CAT 2022 User ID and password
• Click on the ‘CAT Scorecard’ tab
• Proceed further for CAT Score Card Download 2022

The CAT Score Card will include the following information:

• Name of the candidate, photograph, and signature

How to Evaluate CAT Score?

The overall CAT Scaled Score is the sum of the candidate’s scaled scores in all three sections of CAT – VARC, DILR, and QA. Candidates must note that the CAT Score Card 2022 will contain only scaled scores and percentiles, not raw ones.

The CAT Score Card is developed after a sub-normalization procedure under the three parts of the exam, which are

• Quantitative Aptitude for CAT
• Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning for CAT
• Verbal and Reading Comprehension for CAT

Many candidates are often confused about CAT percentile calculations. Percentile refers to the percentage of candidates who receive a score less than or equal to the score obtained by the candidate. The overall percentile is calculated based on a candidate’s overall scaled score, while section-wise percentiles are calculated separately based on the candidate’s score in a particular section. The candidates must solve CAT Question Paper as often as possible to increase their speed, accuracy and conceptual understanding.
