Law School Admission Council (LSAC) conducts the prestigious Law School Admission Test—India, LSAT exam for the admission in various LAW colleges in India for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It offers admission in more than 85 colleges all over the country.

  • LSAT India 2020 announced the results for the law exam on August 13.
  • The LSAT 2021 India Application is to be released in the first week of December 2020.
  • Until 2019, LSAT was conducted in pen and paper mode. However, with the COVID 19 Pandemic outbreak the LSAT 2020 was conducted online.

How to Apply For LSAT 2021 Online?

In order to apply online for LSAT 2021, you will need to have the following.

  • A valid email address and mobile number.
  • A scanned copy of your recent colored passport size photograph
  • A scanned copy of your signature
  • Credit card or debit card for payment of the registration fee.

Educational Qualification For LSAT 2021

  • For BA-LLB Course: A minimum of 45% marks in Class 12th Exam in any stream. 
  • For 5-year integrated law program: Candidates must have completed class 12 from a recognized board or institution.
  • For Post Graduation (PG) LLM: At least a minimum of 45% marks in your Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University.

LSAT Exam Pattern and Syllabus

LSAT 2021 Exam Pattern

There are a total of five sections in the LSAT Exam. But only four of the five sections contribute to the test taker’s score. These sections include one Reading Comprehension section, one Analytical Reasoning section, and two Logical Reasoning sections. The unscored section, commonly referred to as the variable section, typically is used to pretest new test questions.

  • The LSAT 2021 question paper will be set in English only.
  • All the questions will Multiple Choice Objective Questions.
  • The test may be held in online mode for a duration of 2 Hours 20 Minutes.
  • There are a total of  4 sections which are || Reading Comprehension, Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning-1, Logical Reasoning- 2 || 
  • There is another section named ‘Variable’ of which the marks will not be included.
  • You will be provided with a sectional timing of 35 minutes for each section.
  • There will be a total of 92 questions for which the marking will be considered.
  • 1 Marks will be awarded for every correct answer.
  • There is no negative marking for an incorrect answer marked by you.

LSAT Analytical Reasoning Syllabus

The questions from this section will test deductive reasoning skills by requiring you to deduce what could or must be the case about a certain scenario, based on some rules and conditions. This will cover the following topics.

  • Logical conclusions
  • Relationships based on things, persons, or events
  • Statements and conclusions
  • Puzzle-solving passages based on the seating arrangement, Ordering, assignment, Grouping, etc.
  • Some legal statements and relationships based problems 

They simulate the kinds of detailed analyses of relationships that a law student must perform in solving legal problems. 

LSAT Logical Reasoning 1 & 2 Syllabus

The questions covering this section of LSAT 2021 Question Paper will evaluate your ability to understand, analyze, criticize, and complete a variety of arguments contained in short passages. The questions test a variety of abilities involved in reasoning logically and thinking critically. These include:

  • recognizing the point or issue of an argument or dispute; 
  • detecting the assumptions involved in argumentation or chain of reasoning; 
  • drawing reasonable conclusions from given evidence or premises; • identifying and applying principles; 
  • identifying the method or structure of an argument or chain of reasoning; • detecting reasoning errors and misinterpretations;
  • \determining how additional evidence or argumentation affects an argument or conclusion; and 
  • identifying explanations and recognizing resolutions of conflicting facts or arguments

LSAT Reading Comprehension Syllabus

This section will analyse your reading ability, with understanding and insight, examples of lengthy and complex materials similar to those commonly encountered in law colleges. Moreover, you need to have a good vocabulary to master this section. 

The questions may ask about the following characteristics of a passage or pair of passages: 

  • the main idea or primary purpose; 
  • the meaning or purpose of words or phrases used;
  • information explicitly stated;
  • information or ideas that can be inferred; 
  • the organization or structure; 
  • the application of the information in a passage to a new context; and
  • the author’s attitude as it is revealed in the tone of a passage or the language used.

While you will receive credit for the correct answers, there is no negative marking or penalty for incorrect answers. Accordingly, be sure to save some time at the end of each section to fill in answers to any unanswered questions.

  • The first and foremost task for all LSAT 2021 aspirants is to make sure that you get familiar with the exam pattern and syllabus.
  • Get all the reference books and start your preparation without wasting time. Practice the questions each and every day. Do not skip any part.
  • Devote your time to the LSAT 2021 Preparation with determination and sincerity in time. 
  • While practising for LSAT 2021, do take out some time to read newspapers, articles, and blogs to increase your reading time in the English Comprehension section. Take a note of the tough words and phrases and then jot down their meanings in a separate notebook.

The LSAT Admit Card is released 10 days before the LSAT Exam Date. The LSAT Admit Card is released online on the Discover Law Website. You will be required to enter your credentials such as user name and password in order to download the LSAT Admit Card for 2021.

LSAT 2021 Score Card

After the completion of the LSAT Exam, you will receive an email notification when your Scorecard is available for download from the registration site. Scores are generally available a few weeks after the test date. 

If you are willing to go for a rechecking of LSAT Scores or answer sheets, regardless of the reason for the request or the outcome of the rechecking, you can do so. The amount for rechecking of LSAT Score or Answer Sheet Rechecking is INR 1500/-

LSAT 2021 Score Validity

Starting in 2019, an LSAT─India score became valid for 5 years. However, you should check with any law college you are considering whether they will accept a score received during the prior year.

LSAT 2021 Result

The result for LSAT is released in 15 to 20 days from the date of the LSAT Exam. You will receive a scaled score between 420 and 480, a score band, as well as a percentile rank.
