AILET Eligibility Criteria 2022 Overview

AILET Eligibility 2022: National Law University, Delhi sets the AILET Eligibility for the exam. Candidates who wish to apply for BA LLB & LLM Courses in NLU must check the eligibility criteria for AILET. The AILET exam eligibility includes details about the age limit, educational qualification, and more. It is important to note that both Indian nations and foreign nationals can apply for the NLU AILET exam.

AILET 2022 Eligibility Criteria Highlights

AILET Eligibility for Indian Nationals

All candidates, other than those applying under the Foreign Nationals category, should appear for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and selection shall be solely on that basis. The AILET eligibility age limit is not defined. There is no upper limit. 

AILET Educational Qualification 

  • Must have passed the higher secondary school exam (10+2) system or a comparable examination with not less than 50% of the total marks in the aggregate.
  • Candidates who are taking/waiting for their Class 12 results can also apply and take the AILET Exam
  • However, such applicants' eligibility must be obtained by the cut-off date, which will be announced together with the AILET Result, and if they are placed in a compartment in the year of admission, they would be considered ineligible.

As per AILET reservation, 15% of seats are reserved for the SC category, 7.5 per cent for the ST, and 5% for Persons with Disabilities on a horizontal basis. The university has one extra supernumerary seat for Kashmiri migrants and two extra seats for Jammu and Kashmir residents.

AILET Eligibility for Foreign Nationals

The Foreign National and OCI/PIO candidates are also required to apply online on the same portal. Below mentioned is the eligibility criteria for AILET for foreign applicants.

For AILET eligibility 2022 to the foreign nationals category,

  • Students must have obtained a score of 65 per cent on the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) or an equivalent examination.
  • Foreign nationals are not required to take the admissions test. The other rules governing admission eligibility will be the same as they are for all other applicants.
  • Candidates who fall under the OCI/PIO criteria will have the choice of applying under the Foreign National Category or the Indian Student Category.
  • If an OCI/PIO candidate applies under the Indian National category, they must sit for the AILET exam alongside other students.

AILET Eligibility for Application Submission

The following guidelines may be read by all applicants before filling the application form for Admission to AILET 2022. The incomplete application form will be summarily rejected and no request will be entertained in this regard. 

  1. Name of the Candidate: Candidates should write his / her name in CAPITAL LETTERS as given in Class X or equivalent certificate.

  2. Email address/Mobile Number: Candidates should write his/her correct mobile number and email address only which will be used for sending various communications related to AILET 2021. 

  3. Name of Father / Mother: Write the name of your Father or Mother exactly as in your Class X or equivalent certificate. 

  4. Date of Birth: Enter the date, month, and year of your birth as per the English calendar and as recorded in your School / Board (Class – X) / Pre-University examination certificate. 

  5. Gender: Select the correct option. 

  6. Center Choice Details: Select any three centres of your choice in order of preference. 

  7. Nationality: If your nationality is Indian, the option indicated for ―INDIAN. If your nationality is not Indian; the option indicated for ―FOREIGN. 

  8. Contact and Family Details: Please provide your proper contact and family details. 

  9. Mailing Address: Write your complete mailing address IN CAPITAL LETTERS including the STATE, DISTRICT, CITY, AND PIN CODE. Candidates are required to enter the correct Mobile Numbers of parents and email addresses at which the SMS/communication will be sent. 

  10. Academic Qualification: Select your qualifying examinations and fill in the requested information. Percentage (%)/ Grading should be entered manually

AILET 2022 Eligibility FAQs

  • All candidates who wish to appear for the AILET exam should have passed the 10+2 examination and scored a minimum of 50%. However, candidates appearing for 10+2 examinations in the year of the AILET can also apply, provided they meet the above eligibility at the time of admission.

  • There is no AILET age limit for admission to the BA LLB programme offered by the NLU Delhi.

  • All NLU offer only a 5-year Integrated LLB programme. However, Recently National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Banglore came up with their Inclusion and expansion plan where they are going to start a 3-year LL.B. programme maybe from 2022 if not in 2022 then for sure in 2023 as they said that university is going to admit 360 students by 2025–26 according to this 2023 batch should have 120 students of 3 year LL.B.

  • The candidates appearing in 12 standard examinations in the current year, can also apply for the AILET

  • Yes, The Mathematics section of AILET  carries only 10 marks, one must note that this is a decisive section and only the candidates who want to top the test or get into National Law University Delhi will try to score high in this section.
