The internal resistance of an ideal voltage source is-

1. Very small
2. Depends on circuit elements
3. Infinity
4. Zero

## The internal resistance of an ideal voltage source is zero.

Solution

The ideal voltage source constantly gives the same amount of voltage irrespective of circuit conditions. The drop in the voltage, delivered by the ideal voltage source is zero. The voltage division takes place only in series paths. The shunt impedance cannot affect the voltage in the circuit.

To make the voltage drop across the series element zero, the resistance of the series path must be zero. Hence, the internal resistance of an ideal voltage source is infinity. We cannot find the current through an ideal voltage source directly by using KCL. The current magnitude through an ideal voltage source can be measured after measuring the currents through all the elements.
